A new airport that will replace Dumaguete-Sibulan Airport and serve the city Dumaguete in the Philippines.
Feb-2023. Philippines' Department of Transportation announced construction of a PHP17 billion (USD309.53 million) airport to replace the existing Dumaguete-Sibulan Airport will help handle an influx of passengers, expected to reach up to 2.5 million by 2038. Of the project funding, around PHP13 billion (USD236.70 million) will come from South Korea's official development assistance through the Export-Import Bank of Korea. The remaining PHP3.9 billion (USD71.01 million) will be funded by the Department of Transportation. Philippines' Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan stated the project will be implemented within seven years. The airport will be constructed in Bacong town.
