About
Leshan Airport is a new airport development project for the city of Leshan, located in Sichuan Province, China. The provincial government plans to develop the airport in order to boost tourism to the area. The project will feature a 2800m x 50m runway and will have capacity to handle 1.8 million passengers p/a. The project will require an estimated investment of CNY6.8 billion (USD1.1 billion) and works are expected to be completed and the airport commissioned by Jun-2024.
Nov-2021. Sichuan Province commenced works to develop Leshan Airport on 18-Nov-2021. The project will require an estimated investment of CNY6.8 billion (USD1.1 billion) and works are expected to be completed and the airport commissioned by the end of 2023. The airport plans to accommodate up to 2.6 million passengers p/a by 2035.
May-2021. Sichuan Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment approved the environmental impact assessment for Leshan Airport. The airport will be equipped with a 2800m x 50m runway, a 30,000sqm passenger terminal and 10 aircraft parking stands to accommodate up to 1.8 million passengers p/a by 2030. Sichuan Province aims to commence works to develop Leshan in Sep-2021.
Feb-2015. Leshan Airport plans to commence construction in 2015.
