About
Gia Binh International Airport is a proposed international/dual use airport which will serve the Hanoi Capital Region and Northern Vietnam.
May-2026.
21-May-2026. Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) reported the following progress update for the construction of Gia Binh International Airport:
- Over VND3.1 trillion (USD117.58 million) has been paid to 6760 households covering 1292 out of 1793 hectares, achieving over 72%;
- The compensation for agricultural land in the area has been completed. All communes have completed the public posting of compensation and support plans and the payment of funds to the people;
- The direct airport connecting road has completed land clearance for 82 hectares, the project has been approved, and the investor is aiming to complete it before 28-Feb-2027, to serve the high level conference;
- The four resettlement areas covering 419.73 hectares have had over 72% of the land cleared and are currently under construction. The goal is to have land available for handover to residents by 31-May-2026, with the investor committed to completing the project before 15-Jul-2026.
13-May-2026. daa international announced it has been appointed as an operational partner for Gia Binh International Airport. daa stated it will work with Masterise Aviation Infrastructure over the coming years to develop and implement operational and commercial foundations to support the new airport.
May-2026. The ICAO code 4F airport projects the following timeline:
- 2027: Inauguration of the VIP Terminal to serve the APEC Summit 2027

2030: Completion of Phase 1 with expected capacity of 30 million passengers p/a and 1.6 million tons of cargo p/a
