About

Apr-2025. Vietnam's Ministry of Construction issued a decision to adjust and supplement the Master Plan for the development of the national airport system for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050. Details include adding Gia Binh Airport to the National Airport System planning, with a scale and level of 4E airport. The airport will have an expected design capacity of five million passengers p/a for the 2021-2030 period and 15 million passengers p/a with a vision to 2050. It will have an expected land area of around 408.5 hectares and an estimated investment cost of VND25,614 billion (USD992.5 million) for the 2021-2030 period, and around VND12,083 billion (USD468.2 million) with a vision to 2050;

Feb-2025. Vietnam's Ministry of Transport (MoT) approved Gia Binh Airport planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050. The plan aims to make Gia Binh a level 4E airport with a capacity of around one million passengers p/a and 250,000 tons of cargo per year from 2021-2030. By 2050, the airport will be able to accommodate around three million passengers and one million tons of cargo p/a. For 2021-2030 the airport's runway is planned to be 3500m by 45m.
