About

Ganzhou Ruijin Airport is a new airport construction project that will serve the county-level city of Ruijin, located in southeastern Jiangxi province. China National Development and Reform Commission granted approval to Ruijin Airport feasibility study report in Dec-2019, agreeing a total investment of CNY1.66 billion (USD237.7 million). The airport will be constructed as a category 4C airport, with annual capacity for 550,000 passengers and 2000 tonnes cargo.


Feb-2023. Jiangxi Airport Group reported works to develop Ruijin Airport are on track to be completed in the near future and test flights are expected to commence in Oct-2023.  

Mar-2021. Jiangxi Airport Group reported works to develop Ruijin Airport are on track to be completed and the airport commissioned in 2022. Works commenced on 30-Jun-2020 and the airport development project will require an estimated investment of CNY1.7 billion (USD261.4 million). Ruijin will be equipped with a 2600m runway and 7000sqm passenger terminal.

Jul-2020. Ruijin Airport commenced development works on 30-Jun-2020. The airport is expected to be completed and commissioned by 2022.

Dec-2019. Ruijin Airport feasibility study report received China National Development and Reform Commission approval. The CNY1660 million (USD237.7 million) project will see the airport developed as a category 4C airport and include one 2600m x 45m runway, 7000 sqm terminal building and eight parking bays. The airport will have capacity for 550,000 passengers and 2000 tonnes of cargo p/a initially.

Jul-2015. Ruijin Airport site selection recently received approval from CAAC. The airport’s construction project, with total investment of CNY1.0 billion (USD161.0 million), includes a 2600m runway. The airport will have capacity to handle A320 and Boeing 737-800 equipment once operational.

Apr-2015. Ruijin Airport recently completed airport site selection, with plans to commence construction in 2016.

Jan-2015. Ruijin Airport announced that it’s currently making good progress on its construction preparation work. The airport plans to commence construction in 2016.
