About

Bukit Malintang Airport is a proposed airport development that will serve the district of Bukit Malintang, Mandailing Natal (Madina), North Sumatra. According to Madina's Regency, the country's Ministry of Transportation plans to construct the new airport on a 200 hectare site near Bukit Malintang. The airport will feature an 1800m runway, and have facilities capable of handling short to medium-range aircraft such as the Boeing 737. Construction is expected to commence in 2019, and requires approximately IDR270 billion (USD19 million).

Aug-2022. Indonesia's Deputy Governor of North Sumatra Musa Rajekshah said Bukit Malintang Airport development is going to schedule, with completion scheduled for 2024. Mr Rajekshah said the airport is hoped to service international services in the future, including Hajj and Umrah services.

Jun-2021. North Sumatra's Governor Edy Rahmayadi reported Bukit Malintang Airport is under construction and is due to be completed in 2023. Work is currently in the dredging and stockpiling of the airport track, with a 350m runway being built on a total target area of 3000m.
