Bijapur Airport is a green field airport development project located in India’s Karnataka state. Airports Authority of India (AAI) is expects to provide around INR500 million (USD8.1 million) in initial funding. The green field airport development is expected to require a minimum investment of INR2 billion (USD31.2 million).
May-2019. Karnataka's Cabinet approved a proposal to proceed with the development of Bijapur Airport on a 51:49 cost sharing basis with India's Government.
Jul-2015. India's Minister of State for Civil Aviation Dr Mahesh Sharma confirmed the government granted in principle approval for the development of 13 new airports at cities including Bijapur. The estimated project cost is INR1.5 billion (USD23.2 million)
