Bengbu Tenghu Airport

Aug-2024. CAAC approved Bengbu Tenghu Airport as the official name of Bengbu Airport. The airport is on track to be completed by the end of 2024 and commence operation in early 2025. Bengbu will be equipped with a 2600m x 45m runway, a 12,000sqm passenger terminal and 11 aircraft parking stands.

Apr-2023. Anhui Province commenced works to develop a new passenger terminal at Bengbu Airport on 20-Apr-2023. The project will require an estimated investment of CNY680 million (USD98.6 million) and works are expected to be completed by 2025.

Oct-2021. China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) approved the feasibility survey report for the Bengbu Airport development project.

Dec-2020. Anhui Development and Reform Commission (ADRC) approved the feasibility survey report for the Bengbu Airport development project. The project includes provisions for developing a 2600m runway, a 12,000sqm passenger terminal and 11 aircraft parking stands.

Sep-2020. Bengbu Municipal Transportation Bureau received approval to proceed with plans to develop Bengbu Airport. The project will require an estimated investment of CNY3 billion (USD440 million). Bengbu Airport will be equipped to handle up to 950,000 passengers and 5000 tons of cargo p/a.
