In Nov-2016 Incheon City Government submitted plan immediately to examine the feasibility to construct an airport on Baekryeongdo island. Construction could commence in 2020 and the airport could be completed by 2025.
Sep-2018. South Korea's Ministry of National Defence plans to undertake a preliminary feasibility study for the development of Baekryeongdo Island Airport in 2019. The joint military and civil airport will require an estimated investment of KRW101.5 billion (USD90.2 million) to develop and is expected to be completed by 2025.
May-2018. South Korea's Ministry of National Defence granted in principle approval for the development of Baekryeongdo Island Airport, a small joint civil and military airport on Baekryeong Island near Incheon. The airport is expected to be equipped with a 1200m x 30m runway and Incheon City aims to complete construction works by 2025.
