CDB Leasing Co. Ltd is a financial leasing company that provides leasing services for various transport sectors including airlines. The company was formerly known as Shenzhen Finance Leasing Co. Ltd. and changed its name to CDB Leasing Co. Ltd. in May-2008 after the China Development Bank increased its ownership stake to become CDB Leasing's controlling shareholder. The company was established in 1984 and is headquartered in Shenzhen, operating as a subsidiary of China Development Bank Corporation. In 2015, the state owned bank announced it plans to list the leasing unit on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKSE) to raise approximately USD1 billion. Subject to the implementation of a greenshoe option, China Development Bank will reduce its holdings in the lessor to 64.65%. As part of an IPO, CDB Leasing offered 85% of total shares to cornerstone investors on 21-Jun-2016. It debuted on the HKSE on 11-Jul-2016 at HK2 per share (USD0.2578 per share), valuing the IPO at HKD6.2 billion (USD799 million). CDB Aviation Lease Finance (CDBALF) is the company's aircraft leasing unit.
