Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) is a state-owned department that is charged with civil aviation oversight in Pakistan. The PCAA is responsible for air transport regulation, airworthiness publication, air navigation services, airport services as well as safety and security within Pakistani airspace.
Pakistan's Ministry of Aviation confirmed the restructuring of the PCAA into the following three entities, effective 09-Aug-2024:
- Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority: Responsible for all regulatory activities, including flight standards, pilot licensing, airspace management, airworthiness certification and air transport agreements;
- Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA): Responsible for operating airports and developing airport infrastructure;
- Bureau of Aircraft Safety Investigation: Responsible for investigating aircraft accidents.
