Civil Aviation Authority of the Cayman Islands (CAACI) is the regulatory authority responsible for safety oversight and economic regulation of aviation throughout the territory. The guiding legislation to ensure compliance with the ICAO standards and recommended practices is the Air Navigation (Overseas Territory) Order. CAACI's primary activities are as follows;

  • Certification of aerodromes, heliports and air traffic services;
  • Aircraft registration and airworthiness certification;
  • Validation of personnel licenses;
  • Safety oversight for AOC holders;
  • Air transport permits & operating licenses for foreign carriers;
  • Regulation of charges;
  • Bi-lateral negotiations, and;
  • Provide support for effective implementation of regulatory policy.
