About

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) is the government body charged with regulation and oversight of aviation in Nepal. The organisation was first established as an independent regulatory body in 1998. CAAN is headquartered in the Nepalese capital, Kathmandu. The organisation has a number of directorates, covering a broad range of portfolios pertaining to civil aviation regulation. CAAN is responsible for the provision of air navigation services, aviation safety oversight, airport operations as well as the training of staff at its Civil Aviation Academy.
