Tripoli Idris International Airport served the capital and largest city in Libya, Tripoli. The airport was among the busiest in North Africa, handling over three million passengers p/a. Tripoli Idris Airport was damaged due to ongoing conflict within the country. Its contemporary gateway, Tripoli Mitiga Airport, replaced Tripoli Idris International Airport as the primary airfield to the capital. Libyan Airlines operated the first arrival at Tripoli International Airport, since the closure, on 04-Jul-2017.
