Parchim International Airport is an airport in North-Eastern Germany, in State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, 120km from Hamburg and 135km from Berlin, serving Schwerin and Parchim. Originally an air force base, it only handled scheduled cargo flights but in Jun-2013 the owner, Jonathan Pan, said regular flight operations will commence at the airport in 2Q2014, with the airport repositioning itself as a commercial airport. Investment in the airport, a former military airfield, has focused on a new control tower, runway rehabilitation works and development of cargo operations. The airport also has approval operate night services.
