Loeng Nok Tha Airport
About
Loeng Nok Tha Airport is an airport located in the Loeng Nok Tha district of Yasothon Province, northeastern Thailand. The airport is due to reopen in 2014 after it was left abandoned because of years of under-utilisation. The facility has been undergoing minor reconstruction in order to resume operational capability. The airport will be capable of accepting business jet aircraft initially, using its 1600m runway, with plans to potentially extend to 3000m in order to accommodate commercial services within two years. The airport is being reopened in order to stimulate wider business demand in the region as well as to boost tourism. Loeng Nok Tha will be operated by the Thai Department of Civil Aviation.
