About

Humberto Delgado Airport, previously known as Portela Airport, serves the Portuguese capital Lisbon, and is the country's main domestic and international gateway. The airport is also the gateway to the Portuguese archipelagos of the Azores and Madeira in the Atlantic, and a major European gateway to Brazil and southern Africa, through TAP Portugal's network. Portela serves as a hub for TAP, Portugalia, easyJet, SATA International, euroAtlantic Airways and White Airways, among others. A number of European mainline carriers and LCCs serve the airport, as well as a few African and North American carriers. A major upgrade project was recently completed, which included the construction of a second terminal and addition of new commercial spaces, to reduce the short-term need for a new facility in the capital. The airport is operated by ANA Aeroportos de Portugal, under concession to VINCI Airports.

Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport will cease operations when the new Luís de Camões Airport is completed.
