About
Kazan International Airport serves the city of Kazan in Russia's Republic of Tatarstan. Located 25km southeast of Kazan, the airport served as a hub for former Russian airline, AK Bars Aero. The main terminal building was opened in 1979, serving international flights since 1985. The airport was renovated for the Kazan Millennium celebrations in 2005. A new modern business-class terminal was recently built with a capacity of 100 passengers per hour. In November 2012, the airports newly-built large terminal commenced operations.
