Invercargill Airport is a regional airport located at the bottom of New Zealand's South Island. The airport primarily handles aircraft movements from Air New Zealand subsidiaries; Air Nelson and Mount Cook Airline. The airport is also used as an alternate for Queenstown and Dunedin Airports during inclement weather and is capable of handling jet aircraft. However, the airport commonly handles ATR-72 and Bombardier Q300 equipment. The airport is operated by Invercargill Airport Ltd.
