Grenoble Alpes Isère Airport (formerly known as Grenoble-Isère Airport) serves the city of Grenoble, France. The airport is located 40km north-west of Grenoble, and is served by LCCs from across Europe. It has at some times previously been called Lyon Saint Geoirs Airport. Grenoble is the gateway to the Rhône-Alpes region, a popular ski destination in Europe. Traffic at Grenoble is largely seasonal, with the majority coming in the northern winter. The airport was renamed Grenoble Alpes Isère Airport following a rebranding programme by VINCI Airports. VINCI Airports took over management of the airport on behalf of the Conseil Départemental de l’Isère on 01-Jan-2004.
