Located between the cities of Cologne and Bonn, the airport is the sixth largest in Germany, handling over 10 million passengers per year. The airport is also a major German cargo facility, second only in size to Frankfurt. Cologne/Bonn has seen strong growth over the past decade, with LCCs Germanwings, TUIfly and Air Berlin locating hubs at the airport.
