The airport is located nine kilometres from central Bratislava and is a joint-stock company owned by the Ministry of Transport and Posts and the National Property Fund of the Slovak Republic. The airport's network spans much of western Europe and the largest airline serving Bratislava is Irish LCC Ryanair.
