Belo Horizonte Pampulha Airport
Pampulha Airport serves as the secondary airport for Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais and Brazil's sixth largest city. The airport was the city's primary gateway until Tancredo Neves International Airport, located in the northern suburb of Confins, was completed in 1984. Since then, Pampulha has been restricted to handling aircraft of less than 50-seat capacity, as a way to encourage carriers to serve the more distant Tancredo Neves facility. Pampulha Airport now serves as a base for regional carrier's intrastate networks, including TRIP Linhas Aereas and Passaredo, and is operated by Infraero.
