Bandar Abbas Airport is an international airport serving the city of Bandar Abbas, capital of Hormozgān Province in Iran. Bandar Abbas is a port city, in the southern coast of Iran. Formerly a Portugese colony, Bandar Abbas served as an important harbor for Dutch and Indian trade. The city still serves as a port for the region as well as a main base of the Iranian Navy. Bandar Abbas Airport handles international and domestic services operated by Middle Eastern carriers such as ATA Airlines, Iran Air, flydubai, Iranian Naft Airlines and Iran Air Tours. The airport is operated by the Iran Airport Holdings Company.
