Established in 2002, Yakutia Airlines JSC is an airline based in Yakutsk. The carrier is the result of a merger between Sakha Avia and Yakut Airlines. Yakutia operates scheduled and charter services to over 40 destinations across the Russian Federation, the CIS and other foreign countries. The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) owns a majority stake in the carrier. Yakutia Airlines had taken control of its Yakutsk-based competitor, Polar Airlines in Dec-2016 for approximately RUB911.4 million (EUR14.2million). The acquisition allowed Yakutia become the sole operator on certain routes in Sakha Republic. Yakutia and Polar will continue to operate separately but coordinate their fare policies.
