VLM Airlines
About
VLM Airlines was a Dutch scheduled, ACMI and charter carrier based in Antwerp. The airline was a relaunch by Dutch aviation company, SHS Antwerp Aviation, which acquired a controlling stake in Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium on 31-May-2017 following a partnership agreement between Thomas Cook Group and Brussels Airlines in Mar-2017. VLM Airlines filed for bankruptcy on 22-Jun-2016 and suspended all service operations. SHS Aviation utilised Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium's air operator certificate and operating licence to relaunch VLM Airlines. Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium ceased all service operations on 27-Oct-2017, allowing SHS Antwerp to operate scheduled services through the new brand. VLM Airlines commenced scheduled operations on 30-Oct-2017, with a London City-Antwerp service. The services were operated under a joint service schedule with VLM Airlines Slovenia (wholly owned by SHS Antwerp Aviation). In 2018, VLM Airlines restructured its operations to focus on charter and ACMI services. VLM ceased all service operations on 31-Aug-2018 and entered into liquidation.
