About
SunClass Airlines, previously operating as Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia, is a charter airline based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The carrier operates services to destinations around Europe and the Mediterranean in addition to long haul services. SunClass previously operated tour services under the Thomas Cook Group, under the brand Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia. On 20-Sep-2019, Thomas Cook Group announced discussions with a range of key stakeholders and lending institutions to secure final terms on the recapitalisation and reorganisation of the group failed to reach an agreement. As a result, Thomas Cook's board concluded it has no choice but to enter compulsory liquidation. Thomas Cook confirmed that all the UK companies in its group have ceased trading, including Thomas Cook Airlines. Vinggruppen (Ving Group), a former Thomas Cook Group subsidiary, confirmed Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia will continue to operate services as an independent entity, effective 24-Sep-2019. Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia rebranded as SunClass Airlines on 31-Oct-2019.
