About
Lao Airlines is the national airline of Laos with its main base at Wattay International Airport in Vientiane. Formed in 1976 out of the merger of Air Lao and Lao Air Lines, Lao Airlines operates scheduled domestic service as well as international service to Thailand, Cambodia, China and Vietnam. The carrier is wholly-owned by the government of Laos. The government is seeking investors for the airline, as part of efforts to overhaul the state-owned airline and make their operations more efficient and profitable.
