Established in 1929 and branded as Línea Aérea Nacional de Chile (LAN) in 1932, LAN is one of the oldest continuing airlines in South America and is the national carrier of Chile. LAN operates services throughout North and South America, Europe and Australasia from its primary hub at Santiago’s Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport. LAN, through its subsidiary carriers also operate from secondary hubs including Columbia’s El Dorado International, Peru’s Jorge Chávez International Airport and José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport, in Ecuador. In Jun-2012, the carrier became part of the LATAM Airlines Group SA, a merger between the TAM Airlines Group and LAN’s own group company. LAN, d/b/a LATAM Airlines Chile, is a member of the oneworld alliance.
