Green Africa is a Nigerian start-up to be based at Lagos Murtula Muhammed International Airport. The carrier received an air traffic license from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority in early 2016, and secured an Air Service License in May-2018. It plans to commence service operations in 2020.
On 21-Dec-2018, Green Africa and Boeing signed a commitment for up to 100 737 MAX 8 aircraft valued at USD11.7 billion at list price, the "largest aircraft deal ever for the African continent" according to Boeing. The carrier plans to initially develop the Nigerian market before expanding across the African continent.
