Ceased Operations on 21-Feb-2011
IATA: n/a
ICAO: n/a

Established in 1996, Gorkha Airlines was an airline based in Kathmandu, Nepal. The carrier operated scheduled and charter flights to domestic destinations, as well as daily mountain flights in the Himalayas from its main base at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. The carrier ceased operations, and had it's license revoked by CAAN in Feb-2011.

Gorkha Airlines plans to resume operations five years after it formally terminated all operations with Gorkha Airlines chairman Prajjwal Shrestha signing a JV agreement with Virgo Air MD Sikander Rizvi on 12-Mar-2017. Gorkha Airlines is liaising with the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) with a view to relaunching services with two Embraer 145s and two Dornier Do228s.

In Nov-2017 Gorkha Airlines confirmed it is in the final stage of introducing services with Embraer 145 aircraft, with the carrier expecting to receive its air operation certificate in the coming months. Gorkha is planning to acquire two new Embraer aircraft to recommence flight operations.
