Global Crossing Airlines, initially trading as Global X, is a start up airline planning to use the Airbus A320 family aircraft. Subject to FAA and DOT approvals, Global X intends to fly as an ACMI and wet lease charter airline serving the US, Caribbean and Latin American markets. Global X plans to commence charter operations with A320 equipment in 2021.

On 15-Dec-2020, Global Crossing Airlines announced the formation of its first tour operator, CubaX, under Part 380 of the US Department of Transportation regulations. CubaX will initially operate daily Miami-Havana charter service with GlobalX aircraft, effective 2021.

On 23-Jun-2020, Global Crossing Airlines (GlobalX) announced the closure of the business combination between GlobalX and Jetlines. The transaction included the changing of Jetlines' name to Global Crossing Airlines.

On 21-Apr-2021, Global Crossing Airlines (GlobalX) provided an update to the planned spin out of Jetlines: GlobalX and Jetlines entered an arrangement agreement in 2020, pursuant to which the ownership interest of Jetlines will be distributed to the shareholders of GlobalX; On the closing of the transaction, Jetlines and GlobalX will be operated as separate companies with separate management teams and boards of directors; GlobalX expects that the closing of the transaction will occur prior to the end of 2Q2021.

In Aug-2021, US FAA granted an air operating certificate to Global Crossing Airlines, authorising it as a US 121 flag and supplemental carrier. Pending receipt of final authorisation from the US Department of Transportation, the carrier will commence operations with A320 aircraft to the US, Canada, the Caribbean and destinations within Latin America from its hubs in Miami and Atlantic City.
