Eastern Air Lines
About
Eastern Air Lines was a US-based carrier that suspended operations in 1991. The brand had relaunched in May-2015, and based itself at the hub of the former airline; Miami International Airport. Eastern received its AOC and part 121 certification from the Federal Aviation Administration on 13-May-2015, commencing charter services on 29-May-2015 using a fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft. Eastern planned to launch scheduled services, however, in mid 2017 Swift Air was reportedly in the process of acquiring Eastern Air Lines. Swift completed the transfer of assets in Sep-2017, including the transfer of Eastern's narrowbody fleet. The airline surrendered its operating certificate to the FAA on 13-Nov-2017.
