Cimber A/S

In service
Part of SAS Group

Originally formed from the 2008 takeover of bankrupt LCC, Sterling Airlines by regional airline, Cimber Air, the carrier relaunched under new ownership after its shut-down in May-2012 as Cimber A/S. In Dec-2014, Cimber A/S announced that it would end independent operations on 01-Apr-2015 after SAS entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares in the carrier. SAS previously had a wet lease agreement with Cimber since 2004. The acquisition was part of the SAS Group's strategy to transfer its regional operations to subsidiaries Blue1 and Cimber. The carrier was eventuallty sold to CityJet in Jan-2017, as part of a wet lease agreement.
