Canh Dieu Airlines (Kite Air)
About
Canh Dieu Airlines (Kite Air) is a proposed Vietnamese carrier to be based at Chu Lai International Airport. A division of Thien Minh Aviation, the startup plans to operate scheduled services using a fleet consisting of turboprop and narrowbody aircraft. Thien Minh Group invested approximately USD43 million of charter capital into the new venture, which was expected to commence commercial operations in Jun-2020.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Transport has requested the government not to approve the licensing of new airlines until the recovery of the aviation industry, expected in 2022. Canh Dieu Airlines is still pending operation authorisation.
