Berjaya Air

In service

Berjaya Air, formerly known as Pacific Air Charter, is an airline based in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. The carrier operates domestic scheduled and charter services, as well as regional flights from its main base at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport.

Caterham Jet, a proposed premium carrier of AirAsia’s Tony Fernandes, has reportedly signed a preliminary agreement to purchase a majority stake in Berjaya Air. Under the agreement, Tune Air, major shareholder in AirAsia and Caterham Jet, will acquire 51% of Berjaya Air. Mr Fernandes previously announced plans to launch Caterham Jet in 2011 but failed to obtain a Malaysian air operator certificate (AOC).

Berjaya Air Sdn Bhd is undertaking an internal business review including shifting from its current turboprop operations to focus on business jet operations. The company said the jet operations provide an opportunity for Berjaya Air to tap into a new segment in view of the increasing interest in business jet travellers
