Viet Bamboo Airlines, d/b/a Bamboo Airways, is a proposed hybrid carrier by Vietnamese construction company, FLC Group. The company plans to establish the carrier with a charter capital of VND700 billion (USD30.8 million), to be based at Qui Nhon Airport. Bamboo Airways and Boeing announced a commitment for 20 787-9 aircraft on 20-Jun-2018. The aircraft are tentatively scheduled to be delivered from Apr-2020 to 2021. Viet Bamboo Airlines aims to commence operations in Oct-2018, operating domestic services before expanding to Northeast Asia, including China, Japan and Korea.
