Avian Líneas Aéreas, d/b/a Avianca Argentina, is an airline subsidiary under Synergy Aerospace. The company announced plans for a new brand in Argentina following the acquisition of MacAir Jet in Mar-2016. Synergy Aerospace confirmed the establishment of Avian Líneas Aéreas after placing a firm order with ATR for 12 ATR 72-600 aircraft with a further six on option. Synergy Aerospace stated the aircraft are to be operated by the group's new subsidiary, commercially branded as Avianca Argentina, on scheduled and charter services. The new carrier is expected to introduce new regional routes and connections from two main hubs - Buenos Aires Aeroparque and Córdoba, as well as open a base at Tucumán in 3Q2017. Avianca Argentina commenced chartered services, as delays in authorisation have caused Avianca to postpone the launch of commercial operations to Oct-2017.
