Atlas Air is one of the world's largest providers of cargo aircraft available for lease. Atlas Air's services include ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance) leasing, dry leasing, CMI (Crew, Maintenance and Insurance), charter services and training. Atlas Air operates Boeing 747-400F and 747-8F equipment, in addition to utilising 767-300 and 747-400 aircraft for passenger charter services. Atlas Air is part of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings.
In Jan-2016. Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings entered a definitive agreement to acquire Southern Air Holdings, parent company of Southern Air and Florida West International Airways, in an immediately accretive, all-cash, debt-free transaction valued at approximately USD110 million. Atlas Air completed the transaction in Apr-2016, after receiving US Department of Transportation approval. The acquisition provides Atlas Air with immediate entry into Boeing 737 and 777 operating platforms with opportunities for additional growth. Southern Air's five 737 and five 777 CMI aircraft will complement Atlas Air's 747 ACMI and charter operations, 747 and 767 CMI services and it 737, 757 and 777 dry leasing portfolio. The companies will have a combined fleet of more than 75 aircraft.
