Armenia Airlines, d/b/a Armenia Aircompany, is an Armenian carrier based at Yerevan International Airport. The carrier was founded by former Deputy Director General Robert Hovhannisyan and Georgian Airways founder & former chairperson Tamaz Gaiashvili. Armenia Airlines planned to launch Yerevan-Tel Aviv service in Apr-2016 but failed to secure landing permission. The carrier turned to the Mediterranean, launching its inaugural charter service on 05-Jul-2016, with a Yerevan-Lanarca flight. Regular scheduled service operations commenced on 07-Jul-2016 with flights to Moscow Vnukovo. The carrier operate services with Airzena's fleet and crew. Armenia Airlines expanded its network with services to Iran and other destinations in Russia.
