About
Amaszonas Uruguay was a regional airline based at Montevideo Carrasco Airport. The carrier was established as BQB Líneas Aéreas in 2010, serving as a regional operator based at Punta del Este and Montevideo airports. The airline was acquired by Amaszonas in Apr-2015 from integrated Uruguayan tour operator Buquebus. In May-2016, Amaszonas relaunched BQB as Amaszonas Uruguay, its new Uruguayan brand. Amaszonas Uruguay received an AOC from Uruguay's Civil Aviation Authority (Uruguay DINACIA), and secured approval to operate Montevideo-Buenos Aires Aeroparque and Montevideo-Asuncion services. The Amaszonas Group carrier commenced regular service operations under the new brand from 05-Oct-2016.
