Airwaves is a proposed Greek-based seaplane start-up that initially planned to commence services in 2015. The start-up will be operated by K2 SmartJets, a charter carrier based at Athens International Airport, under its Air Operator's Certificate. Airwaves plans to grow an extensive network of seaplane bases throughout Greece, following K2's 2013 acquisition of a 50% stake in Water Airports S.A. The start-up plans to operate a fleet of Bombardier DHC-6 aircraft. A revised launch date has not been determined.
