AirAsia China is a proposed low-cost carrier by AirAsia following a joint venture partnership with Everbright and Henan Government Working Group. The carrier will be based in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province, China. The JV plans to invest in development of a dedicated LCC terminal at Zhengzhou Airport, an aviation academy to train pilots, crew and engineers, as well as maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities to service aircraft. AirAsia China is considering operating with the COMAC C919. An expected launch date has not been advised.
