Air Italy
About
Air Italy S.p.A. was a scheduled and charter carrier with its hub at Malpensa Airport. The airline was established in 2005 by a consortium of investors to serve leisure markets across Africa, the Indian Ocean and the Caribbean. The airline merged with fellow Italian carrier, Meridiana in Apr-2013 and remained under its own air operator's certificate and operates services on behalf of Meridiana. Air Italy was owned by Alisarda (51%) and Qatar Airways (49%).
On 11-Feb-2020, Air Italy announced shareholders Alisarda and Qatar Airways, operating through AQA Holding SpA, resolved to liquidate the airline during a shareholders' meeting held on 11-Feb-2020. The carrier suspended operations effective 26-Feb-2020.
