About

Air Deccan was an Indian low-cost carrier based at Bangalore Kempegowda International Airport. Commencing in Aug-2003, the carrier was the first LCC to be established in India, operating with a fleet of ATR 42, ATR 72 and A320 aircraft. It was rebranded as Simplifly Deccan in 2007, after Kingfisher acquired a 26% stake in Deccan Aviation. Simplifly was later rebranded as Kingfisher Red in Aug-2008, with services operated under the Kingfisher code.

Former Air Deccan MD  G. R. Gopinath announced plans to relaunch the low-cost carrier in 2017.
