About

Air CEMAC was a proposed regional carrier that would serve the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC). CEMAC is an international organisation that represented six member states in Central Africa, including Cameroon, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and Chad. The start-up was intended to operate between CEMAC member states, to 20 other African capital cities and to six destinations in EuropeAir France was selected as the strategic partner for the joint venture, and was offered a 34% stake in the new carrier. Air CEMAC was expected scheduled to commence operations in 2013. However, negotiations between CEMAC and Air France were ongoing and eventually failed in 2015. Plans to establish Air CEMAC were cancelled in May-2015.
