About

Headquartered in Ixelles, Air Belgium is a proposed Belgian carrier to be based in Brussels Airport or Liege Airport. The start-up plans to establish itself as a low-cost long-haul operator, operating services to India and China. The carrier hopes to purchase and reconfigure four aircraft for a launch in Winter 2017/18, subject to licensing approval and aircraft configuration. Air Belgium was founded on 27-May-2016, with a registered capital of EUR5 million. Air Belgium is expecting to operate four ex-Finnair A340-300s as part of its initial expansion. Hong Kong based companies, Pioneer Topworld Ltd and Sky Master Holdings Ltd reportedly submitted the capital injections. The new carrier is not affiliated with Air Belgium, which ceased air services in late Oct-2000.
