Air Belgium (New)

Full Service Carrier
IATA: n/a
ICAO: n/a

Headquartered in Ixelles, Air Belgium is a proposed Belgian carrier to be based in Brussels South Charleroi Airport. The start-up plans to establish itself as a low-cost long-haul operator, operating services to India and China. The carrier hopes to purchase and reconfigure four aircraft for a launch in Mar-2018, subject to licensing approval and aircraft configuration. Air Belgium was founded on 27-May-2016, with a registered capital of EUR5 million. Air Belgium is expecting to operate four ex-Finnair A340-300s as part of its initial expansion. In Oct-2017, Air Belgium received investment from Belgium's Federal Holding and Investment Company (SFPI-FPIM) and the Walloon investment company (SRIW), with the companies now holding a 25% stake in the start-up. The new carrier is not affiliated with Air Belgium, which ceased air services in late Oct-2000.
