About

Aero K, formerly known as KAIR Airlines, is a proposed South Korean LCC to be based at Cheongju Airport. Aero K plans to operate point-to-point services to destinations in North East Asia, including China, Taiwan and Japan, as well as Vietnam. It was initially expected to commence service operations in 2018, however, a revised launch date has not been specified. The start-up placed a firm order for eight A320 aircraft on 13-Mar-2017.

Aero K received its AOC from South Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on 28-Dec-2020 following previous delays due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. The carrier received approval from South Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) to commence twice daily Jeju-Cheongju service on 19-Feb-2021.

On 17-Feb-2021, South Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport extended the timeframe for Aero K to launch their inaugural operation to retain their operating licence from 05-Mar-2021 to 31-Dec-2021 amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

On 30-Mar-2021, Aero K announced plans to commence operations on 15-Apr-2021 with the launch of three times daily Jeju-Cheongju service.
