Alitalia - Compagnia Aerea Italiana S.p.A.
Re-launched in Jan-2009, Alitalia – Compagnia Aerea Italiana S.p.A is the flag carrier of Italy. The airline operates an extensive network of domestic and international passenger and cargo services alongside its affiliate airlines from its main base at Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport.
A member of the SkyTeam alliance, Alitalia is headquartered in Fiumicino, Rome. As of Aug-2014, the Etihad Aviation Group holds a 49% stake in the carrier.

Alitalia formerly operated a LCC known as Air One. The carrier's last service was on 30-Sep-2014. Air One services will now be operated by Alitalia using its own aircraft. Alitalia reportedly plans to transfer ownership of Air One to a holding company established to handle the company’s debts, with a majority of the carrier’s aircraft to be put up for sale.
