With defence chief chairing Airservices Australia board, civil and military airspace union expected

The former Chief of the Australian Defence Force (ADF), Air Chief Marshal (ACM) Angus Houston, will join Airservices Australia as the next chairman of the air navigation service provider's board, effective 03-Jun-2012. As Airservices is wholly owned by the Australian Government. Its governing board of directors is appointed by the Australian Minister for Infrastructure and Transport.

Following six years as head of the ADF, ACM Houston retired from the position in Jul-2011. He spent more than 40 years in the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), where he was promoted to Chief of the Air Force in 2001.
